Honestly my favourite volume of the series, the flashback story told here is so touching and disturbing, it really stays with me.

This series visits some dark places, but this volume was extremely hard to read. I'm not sure that some of these horrors needed to be explained or included. It was nice to learn about some older explorers of the pit that made it to this level though.
