Kristy's Big Day follows Kristy and the beginning of the summer and her mom and Watson  have finally set a date for their wedding in the Fall. However, when something comes up with Ms. Thomas' job and a realtor finds a buyer for the house, the wedding is moved up to two and half weeks away at the end of June.

To add more stress to the situtation, various family members and friends descend on Stoneybrook to offer a helping hand, but they all have kids. However, Kristy and her mom come up with a plan to help keep the kids occupied - the Baby-sitters Club will babysit all 14 kids for 5 days while all the parents help with the preparations for the wedding.

Once again, I really enjoyed this installment in the series, especially since it covers the excitement and stress of a wedding. However, it also deals with the difficulty of having life drastically change - in Kristy's case it both gaining a stepfather and having to move to a new house. I think this is one of the things I have been enjoying during my reread of the Baby-Sitters Club books - they are fun reads, but yet they deal with real issues that many kids face. 5/5 Stars.

As a kid my best friends sister had the whole BSC series on a book shelf in her room. I thought she was so grown up. And I envied this bookshelf. And would often poke my head into that room just to look at it.
And when I read BSC, I felt like such a grown up.
And while I might have still been a little too young to understand some of the issues dealt with in these books, I do appreciated that Ann M. Martin tackled age appropriate issues, some being deeper than others, but still important.

This book was a fun and easy read. It was light hearted and entertaining. Now that I actually babysit I can see their inside scoop and love all their ideas. It was nice to see the contrast in characters and the craziness of their families. The high stress levels in this book made it so interesting because it was told from the kids point of view. Between the babysitting, moving, and wedding it was all just a fun read.

4 stars. Really enjoyed this. Such a cute, fun read. I loved seeing Kristy's huge family and all of her cousins and the baby sitters having to come in and help. It was definitely an adventure.

14 kids to take for in five days and getting everything ready for a wedding is a great job. The baby sitters club are growing up.

Kristy’s Big Day is a pretty cute story; however, I don’t feel like the events that transpired in this story would happen in 2022. The premise is that Kristy’s mom is getting married and they have a week to get everything situated. A bunch of relatives and friends show up along with their children. The five babysitters, who are only twelve years old, are left in charge of fourteen kids for the whole week watching them from 9-5. The girls are creative and are able to walk to most places in their neighborhood to keep the kids entertained and the story definitely depicts what it is like babysitting when kids are crying, unhappy, or being naughty. I liked it and thought the whole story was fun. Can’t wait for the next one!

BSC re-read as a 32 year old #6...

SERIOUSLY, WHO IS LETTING A TROUPE OF 12 YEAR OLDS LOOK AFTER 14 BABIES, TODDLERS AND CHILDREN?!

Tis not one of my favourites, but the wedding traditions were nice to read about. I also love the fact that the BSC is run by a group of problem solvers - 14 kids? No worries, we'll divide them up, colour code them and get on with our day.

I definitely wished I was a bit more capable and self assured like club members when I was their age!
