Nothing groundbreaking if you're not a beginner, but it never hurts to refresh yourself on the basics. Besides, reading about writing is always a pleasure and renews my sense of "permission" to take it seriously.

I liked that this book wasn't so formal in introducing the craft of writing. Though I wouldn't expect anything less from King. There are so many useful tips here for both beginner and advanced writers. What I loved most about this book is how it felt more like a conversation about writing than a lecture. I'll admit... I even teared up during two sections, but I'll let you find those for yourself. I see myself going back and rereading this one for inspiration and tips. I will definitely be recommending this to my writer friends.
