There were aspects of the book i felt were kinda strange
Spoiler like the foot fetish
but overall i loved the characters and the story, i just wish it was longer because the ending felt very rushed. I would have liked to experienced it more deeply.

I just don't think this book is for me. The whole, "i'm so tiny i could fly away when the wind blows" heroine and big burly love interest is not my thing I fear.

This was such a fun read! The personality of Reena and Nadim was probably my favorite part, along with their instant chemistry, especially how it resulted in some rather witty and sexy dialogue. This story also had a lot of depth to it, alongside the romance. Reena's problems with her family and how it reached a conclusion, not a complete solution, felt so realistic. Same with Nadim's family issues and the way the story gradually revealed his past, very mysterious and gripping. Have I mentioned how much I just loved his personality? Also, I am not a huge bread person but this story had me craving soooo much bread while reading and for a while after. I also had an urge to bake but sadly that passed before I made it home from vacation.

Reena doesn't love her life, especially with her family constantly inserting themselves. All she wants to do is cook and ignore it until her father moves his newest employee across the hall with hopes that Reena will marry him. She would never marry him, but she would fake be engaged to him to win a cooking contest.

I really ate this book up! As a South Asian Canadian, it was so great to see a story take place in my city. This was like a soap opera and I totally was invested from start to finish. I really liked how this story unfolded, it was fun, dramatic and really fucking romantic! This has fake engagement, arranged marriage, friends-to-lovers, great banter and cooking!

Reena was flawed, funny and honestly totally relatable, I really enjoyed watching her stumble and overcome. Nadim is just so fucking cute, I enjoyed his character so much I can overlook his fetish. There was instant chemistry and I loved watching them fall in love with each other. They managed to make something so simple so complicated, but I lived for it. So many romantic moments that had me squealing.

The family drama was entertaining and I loved Reena's sister. She had such funny moments that made me laugh out loud. The best friends were great as well, all of the side characters made the story feel whole. This isn't usually something enjoyed all the characters and loved how they added to the story. I liked that everyone in her life was giving her good advice and was on her side, if only she listened the first time!

This was such a fun and easy read that I highly recommend it. This does have spicy moments but it's no erotica. But that doesn't matter because the romance is just so good. I need to visit my mom to get some home-cooked Indian food after reading this. This book touches on secrets, family expectations, individual growth and even mental illness. I love how this all unfolded and was very satisfied with the ending.

Trigger warning: foot fetish.

Cute and lighthearted but I thought it dragged on a little too much. I liked the characters but some plot points felt like a lot of build up with little reward. There were some points that it felt like you were told you were supposed to feel a certain way instead of the story itself naturally feeling that way. I liked it but I really had to push myself to get through the last half of the book, and even then I skimmed. It did make me crave Indian food though.

Such a good time. I really enjoyed the mix of family and friendships, especially with family members that aren’t wholly supportive. The world felt both real and full of love. I definitely would’ve finished faster if I wasn’t so busy this past week.
