Summary:  This is the heartbreaking and autobiographical story of Elie Wiesel, a Jewish boy who was forced into a concentration camp during World War II. The book reveals the horrors of the Holocaust and the emotional toll that it took on the Nazis’ victims.

This was a helpful book assigned as required reading in high school. However, the author is a Zionist - he was already attempting colonization in 1946 and the genocide (Nakba) occured in 1948. There are other survivors like those in Jewish Voice for Peace who have not become the oppressor in their freedom. It's really sickening how awful this man is and has tainted the book too much for me to ever recommend it.
