Silas and Phoebe truly were the highlight of the book. Their whole relationship was so heartwarming. Silas is so much of a cute kind guy. Rosalind pov was still interesting although I did not connect with her as much as I did in the first book. As usual Aliza was very interesting to read about!! I would like a novel dedicated to her!

I sadly was spoiled about
Juliette and Roma's presence

On the contrary I was disappointed because a trope that I thoroughly hate
forgotten memory
was used on the MC. I found the main relationship not as good as in the first book.
To me the middle 200 pages of the book were not good enough. I felt like the pacing was off although things were still happening.
Ever way I woul still recommend this series!!

It has taken me so long to get my hands on this book - I blame medical school and burnout and a reading slump. I was practically dying with excitement to get this book home from the library and finish off a series I began all the way back in 2022. I am not a young adult/fantasy/thriller book reader or a series reader typically, but this series has my whole heart and soul. I loved every moment of this book and devoured it in one sitting. Where “Foul Lady Fortune” tended to slow down in pace, “Foul Heart Huntsman” keeps the pace going. The characters here are just as vibrant, just as devoted, just as flawed, just as human as they were in the first three books. I loved the relationships that bloomed between characters - I who hate reading romance tropes in books. I think I loved them because they are so earnestly human without being cliche or overwrought. Yes there are sappy love confessions and yes there are lots of fan fiction tropes (friends to lovers, forced proximity, and plenty of hurt/comfort). But I think Chloe Gong writes it so well that it isn’t smothering.

In all, I have loved the time I spent with this series, and I wish it wasn’t over so soon. I’m tempted to start right back at the beginning again so I can relive this series one more time!

I held my breath majority of the time while reading this. The pacing was perfect. I love the crime and mystery atmosphere, and of course, our protagonists, Rosalind and Orion. I was really shoved into Rosalind's mind and felt her tumultuous emotions. It was nice to see more of the side characters as well. Usually multiple POV can make a book either too long filled with fluff, but this one worked. Only issue I had with this book was the timeline got a bit confusing as things went back and forth, starting at different points with each POV. Took me some effort to sort things out. I love these characters so much, it's hard to say good bye, but I'm glad for the closure the book gave.
