The writing was so poetic and absolutely enthralling.
A very short read but does it pack a punch.
Filled with so much pain and anguish.
The separation and devastation of this family trying to find a place to exist in peace together.
Very interesting how Andean tales were also weaved in.

Spoiler
but talia’s story specifically felt odd and out of place. Like she was a totally normal girl then all of the sudden she’s throwing burning oil at people and escaping from Colombian juvie and hitchhiking accords the country. Did I miss her criminal past somewhere in the story?? All the sudden she’s an expert. I guess her just simply returning to her mother was not interesting enough??Graphic: Deportation
