I liked how it started but it lost strength as it went on. There was a side storyline that was never resolved, but was used as an emotional revelation. It wrapped up a little too tidy for me and just ended up being mediocre.

picked this up expecting a middling comedy that would keep me entertained but read the first chapter and it was so heavy handed and didactic it was actually insufferable

5 flipping stars. I loved this book.
Robin and Ellie are bests friends and they try to kill each other.
This book has a hook that makes you want to keep reading, but what is inside is so much more than that, but at the same time, exactly what my one line summary says.
So much of this I could relate to. Robin felt in many ways, like me. This is a social commentary book. A coming out book (which, kudos to the nuances the author writes in that part), an epic love poem to loathing weddings, and so much more.
It was full of my type of dark, sarcastic humor, and biting commentary.
5 stars. Just! 5 stars. This is definitely a favorite of the year, if not a favorite of all time.
