Ive read a couple of Megan Quinn’s books now and I have to say they are all fairly good. If you’ve kept up with this series, than you’d have the same expectations for Beakers story as the other Canes brothers and I’m my opinion this one just didn’t meet the mark. The romance was a real slow burn and it took a long time for anything to progress. It felt like the first 50% was too much set up and then the last half was rushed.

Not really a big fan of best friends to lovers trope, but I make exception for Breaker and Lia.
This book is just so funny and light and also highlights the relationship of Cane brothers (and their wives)!
Now im cannot wait for Penn‘s book!

This book was soooooo close to being a 5 star. The main characters were *chefs kiss*. I loved the banter back and forth, I loved the antics with the monster in law, I loved the way he stood up for her and put her first. Man this book was hot too even before the real spice started. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars flat is the ending of the book seemed rushed and once they got together, the rest of the plot was just sex basically. But I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This might just be my favorite of the Cane brothers series. I love Breaker so much, even more than Huxley. His nerdy, Disney loving side won me over. Plus friends to lovers is my favorite troupe, and the drama of realizing you love your best friend as soon as she’s gonna get married….impeccable.
The spice came later in the book since it was a little more of a slow burn but it was well worth it! Those Cane boys know what they are doing

This book put me in a horrible mood, which is literally the absolute last thing you want when reading a cheesy romance novel. I have many issues with this book and these characters, but I narrowed it down after some thought.
1. Breaker? Myla? Huxley? Like are you actually serious? Millennials want to be different so bad it’s annoying.
2. Everything about Brian and his mother sucks. I’m pissed this author made me read 300 pages of their bullshit. He should’ve been dropped in chapter 3. In what world would ANYONE want to read 300 pages of a shitty relationship where they don’t end up together?
4. Ophelia sucks too. You’re in your 30s and you spend a CONSIDERABLE amount of time alone with another man when you’re engaged…. Sorry that’s a no for me. If you HAVE to spend time with him, open your fucking eyes, act like an adult, and be with him instead.
