I liked the story. The writer did a wonderful job with keeping the reader (me) entertained and engaged with issues that transpired in the story. I found the characters compelling and challenging for the plot. The story moves at a medium pace and it has great potential for more series to come. I would have like to see  add the heroine to be older than eighteen. Perhaps if she was twenty-four or older. A more mature age, for her character and certain romantic scenes that she’s involved in.

I am eating these retellings/reimaginings all the way up. Ship of Shadows is exactly what you think it will be, our dear ol Captain "Hook", Pirate Lord Bastian. And if you never heard the conspiracy of "Hook" being the good guy and "Pan" being the bad guy, well let this book be your intro into this world. Does our dear sexy pirate take our boys off to Neverland? Yes. Does he have a good reason for it, or is he just evil? You'll have to read and find out.

But the way this book tugged at my damn heart strings as I was nearing the end and damn near had me in tears. The way this man worships Gabrielle and would absolutely sacrifice himself for her and she for him and her people is just beautiful. There's a lot of raw emotion and heavy bretayal in this one and I just really hits you deep. I might be all over the place with this review but just bare with me. The banter between our dear pirate lord and princess is delicious. Bastian's slick tongue? The way he just eggs her on, his hot and cold nature... But it's so clear to see that this man would go to the absolute end of the world for her. But let's get one thing clear, our dear princess is not a damsel in distress, although she is a lil reckless and finds herself in difficult situations. Anyways, all this to say that you should read this damn book because it amazing.

Also I cant forget our dear Driscoll, I absolutely love him. The perfect amount of comedy to even out the the trauma that you go thru. I can't wait to see more of him and watch his character develope and grow as this series continues.

I love the way Tee writes! It pulls you in makes you have all the feels and ties it all together with a fairytale ending! What more could you want from a fairytale retelling. After reading mirror of malice I was so excited to jump back in and go back to the adventure. Gabrielle is such a relatable character forced into a role she doesn’t want and now must bear with a broken heart. After being left by the Pirate Lord the last thing she imagined was him crashing back into her life (literally). In order to save her family and her people Gabrielle goes on an adventure with the devastatingly handsome pirate, Bastian. The chemistry between these two is delicious and you just want to root for them. You’ll fall in love with the characters (especially the side ones) and laugh out loud at the dialogue. I cannot wait for more from this series!!!

This book! I'm a HUGE fan of retellings but this one takes the cake. The while time I was reading it I was getting disney vibes. The plot line was DEFINITELY more Peter pan with a twist but there was a hunting at some little mermaid and some (I'm guessing) rapunzel vibes in there

Epic adventure. Great banter. Just the right amount of spice. Second chance at love. This book had it all!! Gabrielle and Bastian….their love, their banter was perfect! Bastian’s story tugged at my heartstrings. Morally grey with a silver lining. My favorite! Gabby finally standing up for herself and for what she wanted had me cheering!

And the most amazing supporting character…Driscoll! I love his sass!

“Love isn’t a strong enough word to describe it. What I feel for you isn’t love—it’s magic. It must be for how deeply you’re ingrained into every facet of my being.”

This book was so so so good. I enjoyed every moment of the story and can't wait to read the next one. This series has consumed me and the love story with all its imperfections is perfection!!!!

Peter Pan with a touch of little mermaid!!!! Strong FMC who is finding her way and learning to stand up for herself and what she wants out of life!!!

This book has it all:
*Second Chance Romance
*Morally Grey MMC
*Forbidden Love
*Found Family
*Mystery
