At least 4 grown men were lusting after underage girls, and no one seemed bothered by it? Gross.

I was really hoping to like this book, since Shetland is one of my favourite shows, but it didn't live up to my expectations. I found the characters to be very one-dimensional, and I didn't feel a connection to any of them. Perhaps character development will happen in future books?

I’ll read more

Only three stars because I don’t enjoy reading about one of the big themes in this book; that’s not the author’s fault, but the stars show how much I enjoyed it, and I enjoyed it three stars’ worth. I’ll read more from this series.

I'm enjoying Ann Cleeves: solid writing, plausible characters, and a nice change-of-pace in the murder mystery genre.

I've enjoyed this book. Specially as I can picture some scenery and characters in my head because I've watched (and lpved) the BBC series. However, I think there are aroun 100 pages extra in this book.

This was an excellently done mystery! I had absolutely no idea who did it, and the ending both shocked and satisfied me by tying up all the loose ends. I’ve heard a lot about the tv show Shetland, which is based on Ann Cleeve’s novels, and considering how much I enjoyed the reading of this book, I would definitely watch the show and read more from the series!

Glad to have another murder-mystery series to dip into when I need a break from other fare. I had watched the first ep of Shetland, but managed to remember next to nothing at all, so the book was still a suspense.
