It was a great and interesting book. I just hated that the victors had to fight each other as old as they were. I hate what happens to Peeta in the end and Darius and Cinna in the middle, I hated that Mags went and killed herself. I love that Katniss is going to get her wish to rebel against the Capitol but its going to suck when Peeta is not there because peeta tends to have a way with words. I hope nothing happens to any of those rebels after they start to rebel.

not quite as good as the hunger games but still thoroughly enjoyable... it is like season two so i should have expected that. would suggest reading this trilogy.

“Catching Fire” is a worthy successor to the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy, and definitely does not disappoint when it comes to all its twists and turns, all the character building (specifically with some more minor characters) and, of course, a compelling unraveling to the continuations of the world’s story.
I honestly believe this book needed to exist as a bridge between the first and last book of the trilogy, as it introduces us to a rise in tension, new characters and much much more.
This is definitely great, welcome addition to the Hunger Games family.

2020 reread: 4 stars
I enjoyed this much more on a reread. I still don't love the repetitive sections, but I appreciated the focus on the rebellion a lot more. It's not a perfect middle book, but it's still a fun read.
2011 read: 3 stars
This was basically the first book repeated. Seriously. I still read it, but not as good as the first.
