Sparse, simple text and clear, bright illustrations depict why Friday is this little boy's favorite day. It's the day he goes out to breakfast with his dad. Sweet and simple, it's a great book to discuss what kinds of things kids do to bond with their parents. (As a bonus, the mom isn't absent, you see her kiss Dad and son goodbye on their way to breakfast as she feeds the baby at home. So, no trauma, just sweet tradition). The pictures are awesome, too. I definitely recommend this one!

A charming story about a father and son who have a Friday bonding ritual. The illustrations add a nostalgic warmth.

Every Friday was a very nice book that will give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside. It just isn't spectacular though. I would definitely recommend it for story time because it is neat to see the parent/child interaction.
