At first this book was very interesting since I didn't know much about sociopaths or psychopaths, but the closer I got to the end, I couldn't help but start to wonder: why to make this book so long?
I bought this about a year ago from my local bookstore and immediately started reading it. The first half of the book was interesting and easy to read, but after that I knew I wouldn't learn anything new. This is one of the few books when I REALLY wanted to put the book down and never pick it up again (but I did - nothing haunts me more than an unfinihed story).
Now, after a year, I succeeded to finally get to the last page. Thank god. This story was interesting and I'm happy I read it but I wish it was easier to read.

Having read the goodreads reviews before reading the book, I went in thinking it was going to be bad. People say horrible things about this book, but I could see why...
It wasn't a "bad" book, but it wasn't necessarily "good" just because it wasn't bad.
I noticed a lot of reviewers did not like it because of her ego and pride in being a sociopath. Well, hello! If you read the book you would know that is a crucial symptom of sociopathy, they're all egotistic, they think they are smarter than everyone- they are outsiders looking in at a world of idiots.
This book did teach me a thing or two, but not much that I didn't previously know about sociopaths. It was just different to read about it from a first person perspective.
She states at the end that you may not be satisfied with this book because of how similar she is to "normal" people, and that perhaps you were expecting her to be an outrageous animal killer or a violent person. She's not. The point of the book is her explaining how she is able to function in society, and how common it actually is among corporate and high power offices. She attributes her "normalness" to her upbringing, which goes into a nature vs nurture debate.
I rated this book 3 stars because it is repetitive, very. And I also felt like it was unorganized, sort of like a rant at times. However it was interesting most of the time and different from what I usually read.
