I've heard about these a lot but somehow I hadn't read them. Very fun.

Percy Jackson is a troubled child, he has a knack for getting in trouble and what is worst he can't stand his stepfather.  He loves his mother and he tries, but something inside him flares his temper.  What Percy does not know is that his father is Poseidon and Percy's life is about to change.  Now he is at a camp for Half-Bloods and immediately sent on a quest for Zeus's bolt, for which he has been accused of stealing.  With Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood in tow, Percy travels all over the US in a quest to find the bolt before war begins between Zeus, Poseidon and Hades.

Even though I have seen the film multiple times, the book was a bit different.  I really enjoyed this one, the way Percy begins to discover who he truly is and figuring out what happens next. Highly entertaining.

One of the most, if not the most, popular authors in my high school library. Goes to show how people crave a good adventure story.
