as the previous book, for the first third or so i was extremely disengaged. i found it boring, and i have trouble remembering what happened! and then all of a sudden it switched and i was on the edge of my seat the entire time. i'm still waiting on apollo's jig though...

Okay the bit’s done
No more haikus’ for me
Too much effort lol
Okay now that I’m down to the final two books I need to leave real reviews. I just can’t get out my thoughts in haiku form. Guess I’m just not a poet like that.
Rick has really out done himself! These books are so good and I think he’s done a good job in making these books a bit darker with more complex lessons and themes to follow an aging audience without totally losing the middle grade energy.
I really love the personal growth we’ve seen from Apollo especially in this book and I appreciate that no one too prominent was killed off in this one. While there were a few points where I felt a bit bored it was mostly a very quick engaging read. And even though these books are a bit darker they never lost their whimsy, charm, or humor (yes, I still find the middle grade humor funny, so sue me).
