Mafalda is 9 years old. She knows that in half a year she will completely stop seeing. Will she find her place in a darkened future? Will she be able to go to school, play football and take care of her beloved cat? At the instigation of Estella, she begins to wonder what will be most important to her when she loses her sight. Step by step she discovers it with the help of family and friends.
A great book showing Stargardt's disease from a child's perspective. About preparations, uncertainties, fears, looking ahead with hope and awareness of the coming darkness. Very moving, even more because the author of the book, Paola Peretti, also loses sight.

This book forced me to think in a new way. Blindness is a tough topic and especially the idea of losing sight or living in the dark as the story puts it is a scary idea for all of us. An easy but hooking read that forced me to change the way I think and how I view others. The story was beautiful and well told and although short was touching throughout. I would thoroughly recommend this story to people of all ages and think so,e of the messages would be really important for younger readers. The character was really likeable and was a connectable and empathisable character. It will change the way I go out. About in the world and how I act in the Future towards others from this day forward and forever

I love how innocent the main character is and how those innocence helps her on her problems.
