Overall a fun (and quick) read, with a couple really good characters. Obviously there's more to the story, and hopefully that will better flesh out the characters not given their due here.

Oh my god(s)! I love this!

The whole "Just because you're immortal, doesn't mean you're going to live forever" thing didn't click until the very end and now my brain is doing backflips (in like, a good way).

At first I thought it was kinda weird how Laura was like a bystander to everything but the ending (that twist!) made it make sense.

I was trying to avoid spoilers but fuck it, I have theories.

I don't know if this was supposed to be super clear or if I'm just an idiot, or whatever. BUT it looks like Luci did follow through on her promise. Which leads me to a question, did that old lady —sorry, I forgot her name— kill Luci for real and the powers/godliness just passed onto Laura? Or did Luci plan passing her powers on since the beginning to escape the whole 90 year thing (she did say she understood things differently than the others)? I'm betting on the latter because that would fit in with the title —making the old lady one of the wicked—. Which, I mean, you can't blame me for thinking. The old lady gives off creep vibes. Also, who tf says ily before murdering someone (certainly not someone sane, that's for sure).

And I know it's probably a stretch, but I hope Luci comes back to life in some way. They did stress the importance of their relationship (and she's my favorite) so I'm holding out hope.

Also, —this is probably annoying but— that ending

Loved the concept and art, but the plot/dialogue was kind of obtuse... wish the writer had made the characters just a BIT more relatable! I am curious what #2 will be like, if we get a bit more backstory or what.

My friend urged me to read this by saying it was Sandman meets Velvet Goldmine, so how could I pass that up? Conceptually, there's a lot to like, but I wasn't so keen on the execution. That being said, I'll keep reading because I'm intrigued.

It was a little confusing and there was a lot of blood, but it was actually pretty good in the end.
