I am not totally sure what to think. Academy of Assassins by Stacey Brutger is the first book in the Academy of Assassins series. Morgan can't remember her life before she was found and raised as a hunter. But she knows she has powers and magic deep within her. She is one of the best hunters and is assigned a case at the academy, where someone or something paranormal is killing witches. There she has to prove herself to the trainers, who are all quite attractive.

I don't even know where to start. I did not really find any of the characters loveable. Morgan annoyed me. She wants to be cold and not caring. But she is a horny mess. Whenever she sees a guy who is somehow attractive, she drools all over him. And she does this with nearly every guy on her team. Because they have muscles. Gosh, her behaviour was so weird. The guys in the book where not much better. Some treated her like shit, because she was a woman. Some were nice, and those were the characters I liked the most, but still did not like that much. Kincade was one of the characters I hated the most. And he was the main love-interest. He was so mean to her, brutal and
he stalked her!!!!!
There was also this weird mating aspect in this book. Somehow, they find a mate for life in this book and they are bonded to each other. It appears to be the greatest honour men receive. Morgan seems to be so powerful that she can have more than one mate.
In the end, she had already three mates! And they all became lovesick. Where jealous of each other, but worked together to keep her safe.
This was some major bullshit for me. Apparently, I learned that I do not like to read about polyamorous relationships, or reverse harem as they call it. Not my kind of trope.

I feel like the story had so much potential. The plot seemed interesting, but the execution was not well done in my opinion. The writing style was not too bad, but there were some jumps within scenes that confused me. The book is a quick read, but I will not read the other books in the series.
