Rating will stay a 4 star. I found Domeki and Watanuki's interactions just frustrating and Domeki certainly didn't make things better by stealing that Valentine's treat and also doing some other things. It is like he wants to piss off Watanuki. :| This time some backstory on Watanuki (that apartment building, is that from Chobits, it wouldn't surprise me if it was), twins and the power of words, Valentines day (with a soul-stealing Zashiki Warashi who I like later on but now I just found it rude that she does this), white day pops around, and it is time for snacks and creepy hands. We also meet with the other Mokona again! Plenty of things and plenty of hints here and there that I just LOVE to bits. The art is still wonderful (and always will be as it is Clamp).

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? Yes
  • Diverse cast of characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

I have a strong urge to watch the anime again! I forgot how much fun this series is to read and watch until I picked up the previous volume the other day. Speaking of the anime, the show has followed these four volumes pretty closely (and I'm excited to get to the point where I surpass the anime).

Vale, la OTP es prácticamente canon ya. No aguanto.
Y cuando piensas que la trama flojea Yuko te suelta un "chan chan chan" que te deja con ganas de más.

I really liked the idea of how words can bind, not only yourself, but also other people around you. It cracks me up that Kimihiro Watanuki spends most of his time yelling.

XxxHolic Volume 3 by the CLAMP uses a humorous Valentine's day story to reintroduce the shared connection with Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle.

In Japan girls give chocolates to boys with the hopes of receiving something in return for White day. Watanuki desperately wants chocolate from Himawari but it looks like it's Dômeki who's getting it all.

Yûko for reasons revealed in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle volume 5, suggests to Watanuki that he make his own chocolate to give to Himawari. But things go awry for him and in the process, Watanuki ends up having to get back Dômeki's soul.

The second part introduces the theme of twins, a theme that will become more dominant at the series continues. There is a strong, confident twin, and a shy, unlucky twin. Watanuki wants to help the shy one overcome her troubles. In the process he learns about the way words can bind people together and how especially tight those binds can be for twins.
