I'm in awe of how John Green can connect complicated thoughts to the most mundane of topics. A great analysis of the many facets of the Anthropocene, told with a personal view. A definite reread for me.

A part of me was worried I wouldn't love this book because I was a #1 John Green fan as a teen, and sometimes you reread the stuff you loved back then and realize it wasn't actually very good lol. But this collection of essays reminded me of why I fell in love with his writing. It was quirky, funny, vulnerable, and touching. Full of fun oddball facts that his novel characters would probably obsess over, but also rife with those sweet precious moments that veer dangerously close to cheesy, but are just so true you're touched instead.
I wish I'd read this back in 2021 when it came out. I think the essays that touched on his feelings during the pandemic would've been more impactful. But it was still lovely to hear (I listened to the audiobook which is narrated by the author himself).

Three stars only because far too many of these stories were also in the podcast. But! If I never heard the podcast, it would have easily been four.
