A very fun book! The concept is certainly a bit silly, but it doesn't make A Face Like Glass any less enjoyable.

I'm also impressed by the sheer amount of thought going into the worldbuilding/plot: I don't think there's anything mentioned more than once that doesn't become an important plot point and/or factor into the climax at the end. Not to mention how watertight the internal logic of Caverna is!

There is one scene towards the end that is a bit anticlimactic, but given how well paced and tensioned the rest of the book is, it doesn't make A Face like Glass any less worth it to read

I had a lot of thoughts about this book when I finished it... I did enjoy it! I have to say that my absolute favourite character was the Kleptomancer - his energy was just so fun and I loved the chaos he sowed throughout the story!! The story is very whimsical and the premise is so unique!

I didn't see all of the connections to Alice in Wonderland at first, but when you find them it is really interesting! I loved getting more insight on those pieces and others listening to the discussion on Wilde Book Garden's YouTube live with Hana! It was so interesting!

I will say the reason I couldn't rate this higher was because of two things:
1. I feel like we are introduced to so many characters, and then there are only a handful that are actually important to the story or play a large role. Others flit in and out for small scenes. It was a little bit much to keep track of...
2. The thing I struggled with the most was definitely the pacing... this book felt long and I don't want to feel like that reading books. It definitely lost my interest at some points where it dragged on because it took a long time to get to some of the reveals. But I will admit that the reveals were definitely worth it! There were some really good ones!
