Although a bit confusing at times due to the nature of Neverfell’s altered memory, I greatly enjoyed this book. As readers we are kept in the dark about everything our heroine does not know or understand and pick up the pieces as she does.

I only instantly clocked one of the many major twists and turns. The rest were hopelessly out of my reach until they were revealed and many were arguably unclockable by design.

The world is rich with complex characters deeply interwoven with a setting that is a character in itself. I could easily read this again and have an entirely new experience.

i have very mixed feelings on this book. i thought the concept was so creative and unique so i was very excited about this one!! my main issue with it was the pacing. there were some parts where i felt like i was forcing myself to finish it. however, the last 100 pages felt like seconds. the way every little detail and strand of information throughout the entire book came together and suddenly everything made sense, every word hardinge wrote was purposeful. one of the most satisfying endings ive ever read!!
