My favorite in the series so far! The first two books had a lot of high school drama that I didn't care for but in this book the characters have matured, the relationships have evolved and the storyline has picked up. The cliff-hanger ending was so shocking that I immediately ran to the store for the next book!

The third installment of the Vampire Academy books was excellent and I didn’t want to put it down. The more books of this series I read, the more I like it. Wow…that’s all I can say. That ending was wow! As I suspected, Rose finally got her man. I was so excited for Rose and Dimitri, but I also knew it was too good to be true. As the story went on I could see the writing on the wall. I really love Rose’s character. It’s amazing to see how she’s grown into her own as a guardian, friend, daughter, lover. From a young minded teen to an adult. The tragedy they all experienced at the hands of the Strigoi attacks in the book was massive and it clearly effected everyone on the campus. It was good to see the Moroi stand up and fight with the dhampirs on their rescue mission. I really like how their society is evolving.

I even felt a little bad for Adrian. It's clear that he really cares for Rose. For a while it was hard to see what his motives were. I wasn't sure if he just wanted to hook up with her or if he truly cared about her, but after that last scene between them in this book, there's no question. It was very kind and generous how he stepped up to help her.

Also, I must mention that I liked how the author worked in Mason’s character. More than once he was able to help in the fight against Strigoi. It was a nice touch that we got to see a glimpse of the old Mason before he crossed over. In the end. I didn’t expect Rose to drop out of school, yet it didn’t really surprise me. I’m excited to see what happens next.

Couldn't finish it. I COULDN'T suffer through the scenes where Dimitri turns Strigoi- too painful. I loved seeing all the characters shine in this book. Definitely one of my favorite reads!!!

Shadow Kiss is the third installment in the Vampire Academy series. Rose has survived her first Strigoi kill but it’s still haunting her. The Guardians will spend the next six weeks guarding their own Moroi while their Dhampir instructors will attack them testing them to see how they do against a potential Strigoi attack. When the Dphampir are assigned to their Moroi Rose assumes she will be given Lissa but instead is assigned Christian. However upset with the whole decision she’s determine to prove herself and learns that he’s not a bad guy after all.

When Rose has her first test instead of protecting Christian she’s distracted by the ghost of Mason has been showing up causing her to fail the test. When confronted she claims she panic’s but Dimitri knows she’s hiding something he’s just not sure what. As if Rose doesn’t have enough to deal with because of Mason’s ghost and her current test they also learn that the Queen is going to try Victor Dashkov but being a royal he just may get off. As if that’s not enough they haven’t been invited to court to share their side of the story. Adrian pulls a favor getting them a last minute flight to court so they can share their side of the story. Thus sealing Victor’s fate for the rest of his life. With the return back to school Rose is plagued by more than just Mason’s ghost. Will she be able to figure out what they want before it’s too late?

I’m a huge fan of Rose she’s my favorite type of kick-ass-heroine who never gives up. The bond between Rose and Lissa is unique and I like that they are connected on a whole different level. I’m so happy that Lissa has stopped taking her medicine and is working with Adrian to enhance her abilities. I’m not sure how I feel about Dimitri he frustrates me but it’s clear he loves Rose just isn’t willing to risk it all yet. I think the relationship between Lissa and Christian is sweet they both are head over heels in love.

Shadow Kiss has it all intrigue, mystery, romance, ghosts, vampires and sexy men. The characters are well developed you can’t help connecting with them and cheering them on though the story. The author has done a fantastic job creating a world that they live in with the different types of vampires. The series is one I can’t get enough of it’s just so hard to put down so I stayed up super late reading only to finish this morning. The story while not as action packed as the prior book does provide a captivating story from start to finish leaving me dying for the next one. Vampire Academy is a must read for all vampire fans teens as well as adults. I know it stole my heart as favorite vampire series. Looking forward to starting the next one right away. Love this series!!!

It’s more of a slog than the previous books. But I do not like the student teacher relationship of the book. It makes me uncomfortable. And I’m debating on stopping the series because of this.

<b>Is Rose finally going crazy?</b>

Rose is about to face her biggest challenge she needs to face in order to graduate. But she keeps seeing Mason. And not only him. Other deceased as well. Add into that Victor Dashkov's approaching trial, a criminal who kidnapped her best friend, and who they all thought to already be in prison-

Well, you can see why she would be stressed.

But why? Is it a new, strange side effect from her absorbing Lissa's darkness from the use of spirit magic? Or perhaps her mind simply broke after everything she went through, seeing her friend murdered in front of her.

Rose and Dimitri continue to tap around each other instead of confessing their feelings, only making both of them miserable.

I found Rose and Dimitri to be the most entertaining story. Rose and Christian's sarcasm is always a funny read, and Adrian's spirit fuelled ramblings always make me smile.
