Another library audio book.

I'm used to the female narrator's voice at this point.

Still sometimes getting annoyed with the back and forth switch of past and present, but I am glad we get to read the past.

The mom and the cousin (on two different sides) are both super duper awful people. Like some of the worst treating family members I've ever read in a book. I seriously want to punch both of them in the face. It's just painful listening to them. I hope they cut the shit in the last book because it's super annoying.

I feel like I'm neutral on the FMC but I love Lincoln the MMC. It does amuse me how often he says fuck for someone that is an heir to a billion dollar fortune and the CEO of a huge company. Not that I really mind, it's one of my favorite words to say, but I find it amusing for sure.

~REVIEWšŸ–‹~
The quick and dirty: Whitney finds herself. Lincoln redeems himself. The Riscoff fiasco continues. Secrets about who knew what comes to light and Meghan March yet again delivers twists that a pretzel would be envious of.Ā

The first book of this series left me conflicted because though I loved the story, Whitney was not only a shrinking violet but a bit of a doormat. It left me wondering if I'd be able to really connect with her in the second book. Now, my conscience scolds me: "Oh ye, of little faith!". I should have known better. Meghan would never let her characters wallow in self-pity for too long. Whitney has officially found herself in this book and is starting to realize how strong she really is and taking control of her life. Lincoln realizes his trust issues are driving a wedge between him and the girl of his dreams and sets a course to make it right with Whitney, but when the whole Riscoff fiasco comes tumbling down on them, what will happen when the truth finally comes out?

3.5 stars This was a fast and fun read, I'm loving these very Dynasty feeling characters. I enjoyed getting to know Whitney better in this book by exploring her past and the reasons and feelings she had while married. I'm dying to know why Karma is the way she is and I hope in the final book we get answers to all the important questions and we get to see Cricket's wedding!
