Meet me in Mayfair - 4 stars, so cute and funny. I just wish it was longer.

The Duke of Christmas Present - 3 stars, so much angst. I hated how lack of communication was what kept them apart for 12 years. I also very much disliked the constant jumping between timelines. However, the writing style was gripping.

Heiress Alone - 3.5 stars, very funny and steamy. However, it is lacking in depth.

Christmas in Central Park - 2.5 stars, such a dislikeable hero. I don't mind false identity romances, but this one didn't work for me.

YouTube audiobook

Yes, I read this on YouTube, no, I don’t feel guilty. I’m glad I didn’t spend money on this.

The premise is easy, 4 stories about Dukes, the last one being a play on names. The commonality being a batch of magical shortbread cookies.

The stories weren’t bad, they just didn’t click with me. I say they weren’t bad, but one story featured a man who was pushy & sexually aggressive towards a woman he thought was married. The best story was Tessa Dare’s. Her lighthearted walk through Mayfair was sweet & fun. The story starts & ends as a typical historical, but that walk was magical.

I enjoyed the first 3 stories very much, especially the first, by Tessa Dare. The fourth sort of started off badly with me, because I don't tend to like my romance American, pretty much ever. To make matters worse, I found the writing, particularly the dialog, to be stilted. Shupe's dogged refusal to use a contraction might please a composition teacher, but serves only to repeatedly jar the reader out of the narrative. I finished the story, because it wasn't that long, and the story itself wasn't wholly unappealing, but I didn't much care for it.

Nearly done with the yule-themed TBR. Hopefully I manage to finish it before I manage to send off the last gift package. At this point, it looks like being a photo finish.

Snowy Christmases. Pining, grumpy, stubborn dukes. Sweet romance.

What more can you ask for?

A cute holiday anthology. I think I liked the Sophie Jordan novella best, but they were all fun and a perfect way to end the holiday season.

Giving this a three. The Tessa Dare story was not good at all. Very disappointing. The two that are worth reading were "Heiress Alone" and "Christmas in Central Park".
