I've owned this book for YEARS, I defintiely got it as a birthday present in Primary school...I've always loved the cover but never read it until now ! I found it quite creepy as a 'children's book' but really loved the mystery and storytelling.

Listened to on audio, which probably saved the story for me because the reader's voice with its African accent was so good. The story itself is nice enough and I'd recomend this book to certain readers, but there were a few details that didn't quite add up for me.

I thought this was a nice book and a great story to hand over to children who were just starting to read fluently. The language is challenging enough to grip the reader yet accessible enough to support those readers with weaker reading stamina. I enjoyed learning about the animals on the game reserve and found Grace and Tendai's characters appealing.

A heartwarming tale of love and loss. As an adult, still an enjoyable read that I’d read as a child. Well paced with a good plot,

This book is a really great read for any young children who love animals. Whenever I started reading it I thought I wouldn’t like it. But then I started realizing that I was reading more and more. I realize this text like it and they will be good idea to go get the other books in the series. This book is amazing but I don’t think very many adults would like it. It’s geared more towards 8 to 12 year-olds.
