Astray is a beautifully written collection of short stories about people across time who have had to emigrate. It explores the how, why, effects, and emotions surrounding the uprooting and addresses many societal and racial issues across decades. Tough subjects (including rape and bigotry) are handled with utmost respect for the time period. There was only one story out of the lot that I didn't quite get. I highly recommend this collection if you like historical fiction, short stories, and are wanting to understand am outsider's perspective.
