Reviews with content warning for Cannibalism - Butcher & Blackbird: The Ruinous Love Trilogy, Book 1

Serial Killers who kill serial killers who fall in love. Despite the very dark theme this is a perfect novel....the banter, the tension, the love story and the most perfect "she's mine" definitely of the year, but it may be 🐐Ed.

I did this as an audiobook, truly transcendent. I got a bit more from having done audio 🙌🏿 👩‍🍳 💋 💯 A genuinely top-notch high quality professional product.

Lastly 🌶🌶🌶🌶 . Not only was it super hot, but it was also placed well in the novel. It added a dimension to their relationship. While there are explicit scenes this novel for me classifies as romance rather than erotica.

Speaking of placement. I thought this book was beautifully paced. I've been looking for a moment for a book that captured my interest from page 1 and this delivered in spades. Captured on page 1 and just a page turned till the end.

When is book 2 out? I need more. Will definitely be checking out more from this author.

Ahh! Just as good as the first read...if not more fun since I knew everything that was going to happen 🥰

I'm so happy for Brynne that a trade pub realized just how amazing this book was. Hoping they don't change anything about it when they rerelease...especially the amazing page art.

I will continue on my mission of making everyone I know read and fall in love with Sloane and Rowan 😎

Hear me out...is this about two serial killers falling in love? Yes. Is this also one of the sweetest/most romantic books I've ever read? Also, yes. 🥰

There's just something about finding that one person, in the entire world, that truly understands and accepts you. 🥰

I don't know how to explain how amazing this book is. Is there a bit of gore and violence? Yes...and yet the way that Rowan understands Sloane and gives her the space she needs to feel comfortable with him 🤌🏽

Does loving this book possibly mean I'm a bit unhinged? Idk but I have no regrets! 😌

Deeply fucked up people find love in a rediculous challenge go kill a serial killer a year. Butcher and blackbird are kinda cute and their romance, although tense is kinda cute. The bdsm dynamic is fun and pretty hot.

I did not expect to love this book as much as I did especially considering how much i disliked marrow but I was seeing this everywhere so I had to read it and I loved it. the use of cookies and cream ice cream was criminal so im never eating that again. I loved that rowan and sloane were equal level serial killers and that they both had situations where they needed rescuing by the other so one isn't given an insane amount of power over the other. it was actually kinda lighthearted for a book about serial killers, like it had good moments to balance out the bad. read the trigger warnings tho bc this book has them for a reason.

Listen, I was not expecting to be as obsessed with this books as I am. BUT HERE WE ARE. Okay, first off, I can no longer look at Cookies and Cream the same way again! LOL. The dynamic between Rowan and Sloane was beautiful. Their banter, the interactions they had, the pure chemistry was absolutely divine. I think Dark Comedy Romance has become one of my new favorite genres. I cannot wait for the second novel. I need it like, right now!
