In this graphic novel, we reunite with Marjorie and Wendell, but things have changed for Marjorie since the laundromat business flourished thanks to the ghosts' help.

She is now part of Tessi's friend group — because she wants to get closer to Colton — and she's starting eight grade soon.

But despite this seemingly good turn of events, Marjorie still feels like a misfit and she also struggles to balance this new life with her friendship with Wendell and trying to help her brother and father.

Eliza has one goal: to photograph ghosts. She wished she were like them, less visible. No one believes her when she talks about her project and she is constantly bullied for believing in ghost stories.

Her attempts to make friends with her classmates are always met with indifference or mockery and so, she finds a refuge in photography. But sometimes, she really feels unheard in her pain and it grows more and more difficult to bear all of it.

Delicates is a very touching graphic novel on the topic of bullying. I think it was explored with a lot of care and I'm very grateful for this book's existence because it can help a lot of people, especially kids who feel like Eliza.

I'd love to have a little ghost friend like Wendell because he's such a sweetheart and a caring friend. I think he might be one of my comfort characters from now on.

As with Sheets, (the first book in the series) the art in Delicates is just adorable but it's also very colorful in a way that goes really well with the subject because it provides a sense comfort and softness to the book.

This is a book I highly recommend for it's sweetness but also for the importance of the subject. I really appreciate middle grade books who have a lot of depth and this one definitely fits into this category.

I really loved seeing Marjorie and Wendell’s friendship evolve, and Eliza’s story was very powerful. Colton sucks.
The end was a little too perfect with Eliza and Tessi’s conversation.

This book was a little too real, I got pretty sad during the lower parts and I'm glad it came together in the end with positivity. I really love the art style with the detailed clothing and persistent color palette. A worthy sequel to Sheets for sure.
