I can’t believe I enjoyed this book as much as I did. I thought I would have to push through it honestly but nope I was invested from the very beginning. now did it seem like a combo of God of Malice & God of Wrath? yes but I was so shocked that I enjoyed Lan’s story that I didn’t care that much 😂.

Mia was the true star of this book. she’s tied with Cecily for favorite FMC. I loved that she accepted Lan and the way that he was and never really wanted to change him she just wanted him to evolve because she knew that he cared for his family and even her but he didn’t know how show it properly or without causing a shit storm. Mia’s struggle with her being a selective mute reminded me a lot of Luna from Broken Knight, Mia just had a lot more spit fire than Luna. Mia didn’t let the fact that she didn’t talk take away her confidence because honestly she went toe to toe with all the Heathen’s & Lan multiple times and didn’t back down.

Landon was a shock for me in this book. he’s not my favorite by any means but I understand him a little more now I guess, don’t get me wrong I found myself rolling my eyes with his inner monologue but also I wasn’t shocked at how he thought of himself and others. what I was shocked at was how sweet he was to Mia so quick, he learned ASL for her, renovated his house so she felt comfortable there, set her up a garden & learned to cook her favorite food. I mean who is this man because it wasn’t the same one from the first 3 books. now he did take things too far IMO by 1. beating up Niko because she said she couldn’t see him because of family dinner & 2. for announcing AT HER BIRTHDAY PARTY that he was courting her 🙈.

now the ending was again lackluster for me, I thought it would be a bigger reveal than what happened. other than the stuff that we found out about Maya because woah, also I want her & Ilya’s book because I know that would be a chaotic mess. I’m very excited to read God of Fury to find out more about Bran because with all the crumbs we got in this book I just have high hopes.

3.65 stars!

Landon is just too intense for me but he redeems himself in this book.

One of the things that I like from this book is the fact that Mia doesnt really try to 'save' Landon. She accepts him for who he is and also accepts the fact that she is not that innocent by liking the thrills.

But, I just think the plot twist is kinda rushed (and doesnt make a lot of sense). Also Maya girl wtf did you do?? That whole thing is a major plot hole imo. Im ready to just forget about it.
