The audiobook version with Simon Vance as a narrator is fantastic! It's the best audiobook I've heard in a long time.
It has a full cast with background mysic. It was an incredible experience!
Highly recommend for a reread or a first read if you're intimidated by the size of the book.

After hearing so much about Dune and starting Audiobooks, I finally got around to this!
I struggled with the writing style in the very beginning and I felt very confused for maybe a quarter of this book. Because of this I feel like I missed some very important context in the beginning of the book, but I don’t think this ruined the book for me.
Each part, or “book” continued to get more and more intriguing. Where I felt like very little was happening with so many words, then once I got to the end I didn’t want it to stop. This is also why the beginning being confusing to me isn’t bothering me much. As much as I am very intrigued and want to go to Dune Messiah, I even more so want to just take in this story again. The final scenes were huge and felt it. I know if I reread this I’d get a better appreciation straight from the beginning. While I think the beginning was slow and off putting at times I think it paved a lot of the groundwork for what made the whole second half of this book feel impactful. Also interesting watching a main character who is the hero, but isn’t necessarily a good guy.
