Curtain, although not Christie's best work, is a suitible ending to the Hercule Poirot collection. The return of Arthur Hastings is much anticipated and appreciated. I did find that compared to novels where an author provides too many clues for a simple mystery, this mystety was quite complicated and many clues where intentionally withheld from the audience. I also found the reveal at the end to be unsatisfying, especially for the final book of such a large collection. The book seemed to focus onthe relationship between Poirot and Hastings while the mystery itself was a mere backround consideration (although as a reader who has fallen in love with both of these characters, I can't say that this is upsetting). Overall, this novel is a must-read if you are a fan of Poirot, althought I certainly wouldn't pick this novel up if you haven't explored the rest of the Poirot collection beforehand.
Graphic: Death, Gun violence, Suicide, Blood, and Murder
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts and Suicide attempt
