The second in a series set on Cape Cod during the Colonial era, BOUND is the story of a young girl sold as an indentured servant when she reaches Boston. Though her choices are not always correct and we wish she were smarter, I also felt like I was right there with her making those bad choices. Highly recommended, especially for Cape Codders or history buffs.

I loved this book as much as I loved The Widow's War(also by Sally Gunning) perhaps more. Gunning writes with a warmth that pull you into the story and makes you really care about her characters. Although this is fiction, Gunning is very careful to make her stories historically acurate so one can actually learn something about what life was like in the period she portrays. I read this book on an airplane trip and was a bit embarrassed that other passenger might find me tearing up over a book but that's the magic of reading a book this good. You might actually cry and laugh because of it!
