This was a 3.5 stars for me!

An Insta-love story, dual POV, that includes a college football sports romance. May have had a different rating, but because I recently read another college football romance I was comparing story lines but they were completely different.

Piper who is daughter to one of Hollywood’s leading actors moves from the east coast to west coast to escape her past trauma and school scandals. She immediately meets Roman Calloway star football player with the probability of going into the NFL who is also dealing with his own family secrets. Their insta love flourishes quickly which made me cringe a bit how fast things went (had to remember how young they were though). Also felt that her new best friendship was a bit forced and I couldn’t believe Piper was so trusting of her after their first encounter.

I do love Monica’s writing style how you feel like you’reo walking right there beside the characters. I felt for Piper because although she wanted to unapologetically feel all the feels for Roman she struggled with forgiving herself for her past and took on all the blame for things that were not completely her fault. I ended the book with a happy heart

Piper and Roman, boy was their story NOT lacking in emotional drama! If there was ever a rollercoaster-like start to a relationship, this was it!
Piper, looking for a fresh start after a heartbreaking series of events and scandal in her life, finds herself in sunny California at a new college and looking to leave everything in her past back on the east coast. However, as the saying goes, sometimes the past comes back to haunt you. Piper meets Roman and has a bit of a whirlwind romance with the star football player of Newport University. Roman falls hard and he falls fast for Piper. It’s pretty sweet and adorable really. But, once he knows the whole truth about Piper’s past at her previous school, he struggles with his feelings about the Piper he loves and the one who made decisions he doesn’t fully understand.
I think what I loved about this story was that it was truly a college romance. These were early 20 somethings still learning about life and trying to figure out where they fit in, who they fit in with, and what love looks and feels like for them.

Quick Notes:
• College romance
• Some sensitive subjects are covered
• A little bit of insta-love
• Some sports themes (The MMC plays football)
• Sort of an embarrassing meet-cute
• HEA
• Dual POV
