A group of people in the woods searching for a sister/friend and they’re being followed by something or someone. Everything you expect from a story with a premise like this, this one delivers. Everything that can go wrong, does which makes searching that much more difficult. Will they find who they’re looking for? Will their hunter find them first? Can they make it out alive?
I enjoyed this book. It’s creepy and exciting and everything I hoped for. I definitely recommend.

After I got through a few chapters I couldn’t put this book down. It kept me guessing just like the characters in the story. SPOILER I found myself thinking “is there really a dang monster in this book?!”. Fun, suspenseful read.

I read this for a bookclub and I was pleasantly surprised. The book is categorized as a young adult but it definitely reads way more adult with how descriptive the gore and deaths are. Other than that most of the characters are just fine I did  love Hayley and flint grow on me a lot. Carla pissed me off for a while but I'm glad she finally got her shit together. And finding out who the killer really was was definitely a surprise and made sense.

2.5 stars rounded up to 3 since it kept me entertained.
I’ve never read a book where I actively rooted for the antagonist because none of the protagonist were likable until I read this one
I spent the longest time trying to figure out where this book is supposed to be set, and I assume it’s America because football is mentioned frequently (and not soccer because linebacker was mentioned) but then words like pub, bloody, uni, etc. were used
It was entertaining, but the beginning is slow, and the characters ARE AWFUL! The ending twist was okay, but really?? Not super believable

So my initial thoughts are this is a really good book fun creepy story. However, I’m struggling with the character Todd. So far the majority of this book is told from his POV and I’m not sure why the author chose this weird loser who is an actual incel to be the main focus. Like what’s the point??? he has no common sense. He’s a misogynist he’s entitled, and he’s an asshole. Again an Incel with no ties or connection to the story as far as I’ve read from other reviews. A woman wrote the book and a woman could’ve easily been. The main protagonist hero had some complexity and depth to her character but instead we get this ridiculous asshole? DNF.
