Amelia is down on her luck after her husband walked out of her and their son, Charlie. Then genealogist Benji appears, telling Amelia she is the heir to a huge castle on the Northumberland coast, which she is expected to continue running as a tourist attraction.

When Amelia and Charlie discover the castle is haunted, they must follow the clues provided by the ghosts in order to ensure the future of the castle is safe, while at the same time making changes to encourage visitors to the failing attraction.

I loved the characters, particularly Benji and Dorothy, as well as the stunning Northumberland coast descriptions. I could easily have read the book in one sitting if it weren't for other life commitments!

It's such a great and cozy book to read while feeling the sun on your face and having a cold drink near you.
A great writing style that makes you reading the book in less time than expecting, a story that has a bit of everything to experience a heartwarming romance with a bit of mystery in an old castle that is holding captive a ghost, (like most castles do, no? ) and a great few experiences in the weeks to restore the old chambers and furniture for a future business that could keep them live a lovely life in the castle.

Not your average chick lit read, great fun but with a twist of mystery and ghosts added to it. Full of wonderful characters a great story full of friendship , humour and romance

This is not the best written book I have ever read or the best romance, but it is wonderfully escapist and a delightful tale of a woman and her son who inherit a castle in Northumberland. There is a romance but it is not centre stage, we mainly learn about the people she meets who live and work at the castle and some other surprising characters.
I'm giving this 5 stars because I enjoyed it so much x
