Story: incredibly beautiful and moving.
Illustrations: gloriously made.

Sometimes you have to say goodbye to your friends, but it doesn't mean you can't see them again.
Sometimes you need to pause and make sure you are paying attention to your family.
And sometimes you should take a break and look at astonishingly beautiful illustrations from a well-loved picture book.

Loved this sweet story. I loved the relationship between the young boy and his father. I loved the smart lesson this book taught and the illustrations are gorgeous!

I bought this book for my friend's baby and fell in love with it. I enjoy the cats featured in almost every illustration.

I totally did this out of order - I read "The Storm Whale in Winter" first before I realized it was a sequel to this one. I adored this book as well. Heartwarming and with illustrations I could look at all day.

Sweet story for elementary age kids - maybe better to let them read and explore on their own than to read aloud. The illustrations just hold so much magic!
