Short Read

There was too much filler and a lot of disconnect with the characters. I love the Inked series and the Gallaghers because I was able to get to know them. I didn't get that with Derek and Olivia. Left a lot of questions.

This was a great story!! I really enjoyed it! It was a fairly quick read but not too short. Derek and Olivia have had an arrangement for one night a month without names or too many details involved. They can't contact each other outside of that one night as they never shared those details. Both got in deeper than the original intended idea of keeping things surface level. Both believe they are damaged and don't deserve/can't have more. Derek makes the choice to share his name on the step to asking for more but it brings up a twist, as they knew each other when they were very young and are connected by a tragic accident. Olivia puts it together right away but not Derek. I loved how this book was developed. We really got to know the characters as they dealt with this dilemma of what to do. They didn't really know what the other person wanted since things were changing so much and both knew that there was more involved than what had been shared. This story was really well done and I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved getting the little glimpses of the Montgomery Ink family but this book stands on it's own for sure.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is a Montgomery Ink novella and it’s Derek and Olivia’s story. What they had was a once night a month thing and worked amazing for years until the last meeting and something so simple becomes difficult.

Amazing story by the author she continues to release great new stories! This one was stunning and loved the characters the chemistry the storyline all of it really.

Overall, great story by the author it flows perfectly and a page turner!! It can be read as a stand alone without any problem. The Montgomery Ink Series is wonderful and one of my favorites.

INKED NIGHTS is book 8.5 in the Montgomery Ink series and is also part of the 1001 Dark Nights line. Although there's recurring characters throughout, the story can standalone!

Olivia and Derek have spent the last four years meeting for a single night a month of just sex. No full names, no strings, no expectations. One night, it becomes clear that Olivia and Derek are craving more. But when they learn that they're connected by their painful pasts, their relationship quickly falls apart. Can they look past the sorrow and embrace a future together?

Like most of the stories in the 1001 Dark Nights series, this is a short but sexy novella. And let me tell y'all, this one starts off H.O.T! But I honestly wasn't expecting the twist that Carrie Ann Ryan threw in there. The thread that tied Derek to Olivia was both sad and strangely sweet. The angst isn't overwhelming but there's enough drama to keep you turning the pages.

I love the male cast of characters that Ms. Ryan writes about because they're always so damn sexy and charming! Derek totally embodied that signature style. He was...well...dreamy! Thoughtful and caring. Olivia may not have had a lot of close friends but she was a good hearted, strong person and her character showed that. They turned out to be the perfect compliment together. I also really enjoyed seeing some of the Montgomery clan again.

If you're looking for a steamy afternoon read with awesome characters, this one will be perfect for you. Told from dual POVs with a happy ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Love getting little glimpses back into the Montgomery Ink world and this was a great treat. We wasted no time getting all the sexiness out of this romance.

Derek and Olivia had an arrangement for 4 years and only know each other as “D and O”, but once D asked O to call him Derek things changed. See these two knew each other when they were kids and they share a tragic event that changed their lives. Now, they have a second chance at something that was always meant to be.

I can never say enough good things about Carrie Ann Ryan; her writing is so good that I will read anything she writes. She always knows how to hook you in the beginning and leave you wanting more at the end.

Olivia Madison does the same thing once a month. Our author did a great job in creating Olivia. You can almost feel her tension, her apprehension and her anguish about something she couldn’t control. Derek Hawkins is angry about the situation. Our author does a great job in showing his frustration, his hatred over something from his past, and the realization that there comes a time where you just have to let things go.

This is one of the more emotional stories. You may not need a tissue at the beginning of this story – a fan maybe. But it may not hurt to keep them handy because at a certain point you might. Olivia has a memory that never goes away. I know how hard that is because I went through something similar – not exact but similar.

This is not one where you will get immersed into the Montgomery Ink series. Derek is one of their employees. Being a novella, you don’t mind that because the author has created plenty of heat between her main characters. If you’ve not read any of the series, this may have you curious as to what it may be about. And you just may find that Derek made an appearance in a previous book. For me, it’s a reminder that I have a lot to catch up on. You certainly don’t need the other books to enjoy this one but if you’re one that follows this author it’s one you’ll want to add to your library.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
