I found this book a bit generic and boring at first, but then once I got into it it got more engaging. Thankfully, I liked the protagonist, but I found her constant metaphors and descriptions of songs appearing in her head a bit annoying after a while. I did laugh out loud while reading a few times though, which is always good. The author also wrote 9 songs to accompany the book which are on Spotify, which I thought was cool. The book also covered some important issues and life lessons that were interesting to read about. Overall it was an entertaining and heartfelt read but I found some of the characters a bit irritating and unrealistic.
Moderate: Grief, Sexual harassment, and Alcohol
Minor: Body shaming and Sexism
