Hestia Wright strikes again. Once a well known courtesan, Hestia is now a Philanthropist whose Half Moon House provides help for women in need. She is also a bit of a matchmaker and Dear Abby all rolled into one. In these 2 stories, Hestia does what she does best and puts people together to solve their problems and if they find love also that's just the cherry on top.
In An Unexpected Encounter she matches a woman who needs a job with a child who needs a governess. The child is also in the care of an unmarried trustee who has been avoiding the ton. The three of them form a bond that goes beyond employer and employee and while helping the young girl work through the pain of her parents' death, Lisbeth Moreton also eases her own pain of disappointment in her parents and helps Edmund Banke, Baron Cotwell open his heart to love.
In A Waltz in the Park, Hestia is advising Edmund James Vickers to help him see that revenge is not always the way yo happiness. When he meets The Celestial, aka Miss Adelaide Stockton he knows that he must avoid her at all costs. His wicked reputation is the opposite of her pristine one. Their interactions show that they are both nor quite what the ton sees on the outside and they are drawn to each other.
Deb Marlowe has a wonderful way with characters, she manages to let you see inside their minds nd encourages you to feel both their pain and their joy. It shows in these 2 novellas.
