Okay there was so much growing in this book for Auren. I'm so glad that she found out she is able to control her powers during the day, and that she is also kind of able to use them at night even if she isn't able to actually create gold at night just control it.
Also I love how sassy she has gotten in the time out of Midas' control. I also love how she not only interacts with Slade but also his captains. Her and Lu are great.
Also i hate that that little bitch man stole Auren and took her to the conflux against her will. He is such a fake bitch, acting all nice to Auren and then pulling this shit. Especially behind Slades back? Big mistake. I hope he dies in the crowd of people that Slade rotted.
Also Slade ripping open another opening into Annwyn that was fucking crazy. But then he also has "lost" his well of power and the forst rip has closed.... Hopefully all the people in deadwell aren't dead and are just back in Annwyn. I don't think my heart could take it if that's the case. I hope Slade finds a way to get to our girl Auren because I will fucking be gutted if we don't get a reunion.
Also I fucking knew that there was some shady shit going on with the twins and that traveler dude. I fucking knew it. And that bitch fucking deserves whatever happens to her, fucking Midas and his wife will both fucking get what they deserve for being greedy stingy people. One down and hopefully the other goes down in the next book.
Also I hope that the bitch queen of third gets what she deserves as well.

"You don’t have to be cruel to be strong. You don’t have to be mean to seem brave. You don’t have to look down on others in order to stand tall. Having emotions does not mean you’re weak. It means you’re smart enough to let yourself feel."

What. The. Heck. Just. Happened.

I am utterly speechless at the conclusion of this book. So much has happened in the last 100 pages and I don't know how to feel.

This is the longest one so far in the series, and there was a few parts that I struggled to get through and I really had to push myself to keep reading through the slow bits, but that conclusion made the book for me. I am glad that there is more spice now, and that we get to see more of our lovely couple together and happy for a change. Until everything starts to go to sh*t. I literally cannot wait to finish this series, and I'm so glad that I decided to start it a few months before the last book is released. (07/2024)

I really liked this book. It was nice to see Slade and Auren grow closer and see their relationship evolve. The ending of this book had me gasping, crying, clutching my pearls. It was nice to see more of Slade’s past and more of the world. Auren has been through so much and although she occasionally slips on her journey she is so resilient. The relationship between Slade and Ryatt is also complex and interesting. There are lots of great written characters
and a lot to happen in the impending war.
I’m really interested to see where the series goes from here but I’m invested

Too long and in need of a good edit. Pacing was slow again for most of the book. Enjoyed the multiple POVs though.

Glow is the third book in the Plated Prisoner series. Gild is the first book in a fantasy romance series following a girl named Auren who is gold touched. She has lived in a cage in a palace with King Midas for what feels like her whole life but she doesn't mind. She's in love with Midas and would do anything for him. But when different plots start to come to light and Auren is let out of her cage for the first time, she finds that everything is not as it seems.
I really loved this fantasy romance series so much! The strength of this book series is in its characters and Raven Kennedy really leans into that. I loved seeing Auren and Slade growing as characters. One of my favorite parts of this book was reading Slade's past and learning more about his past growing up. I really loved the way this book was split between those two perspectives plus the other perspectives in this.
When I wasn't reading this book, I was thinking about it and wondering where it was going to go next. I really love how this book leans into the political elements of the story and how we learn even more as the series goes on. This book made me so excited for Gold and I cannot wait to read the last book when it is out.
