Read for Aly (Mythic Melancholy)'s Discord Buddy Read.

Interesting premise and twist on Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Fall of the House of Usher,” but I found myself feeling bored and underwhelmed. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and time spent to describe what the narrator was seeing and hearing, which I think really helped with the spookiness and tension as I was reading. The frustrating part is I don't know what would've made my reading experience better. The narrator? Faster pace? More vibes and death? Reading physically instead of listening to audio? This book just isn't my taste? Or maybe I had my expectations too high from the hype?

Ya know. I loved nettle and bone… this one was a bit lack luster to me. I don’t hate it. I just didn’t LOVE it like I was hoping.
