Woulda been 5 stars but just one little thing...

4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok. Seriously, I loves this book. I don’t normally like billionaire romances, and not this is one of my favorite books. The banter was amazing. The characters had believe flaws. The supporting characters were so rememberable. It’s was funny and sexy and just everything!

Why did I dock it half a star?

Let. Me. Tell. You.

(Insert Spoiler Alert Warning Here)

All through the book, Clover is all ‘I don’t wanna be like my mom! She wanted to travel! Now she eats apple pie once a week, that she hates just because her father loves it.” (Totally paraphrased, just go with it)

Seriously, the *bleeping* apple pie!!

If during the Come-To-Jesus moment with her mom, Clovers Mother would have said ‘yes but your father hates _____’ or whatever. I was just waiting for that to be an example of compromise.

I was waiting for Clover to get the proverbial Gibbs slap up the head about the often mentioned apple pie.

It’s such a stupid thing to be irritated about.

But I’m a complicated person. *kayne shrug*

Now that I’m done ranting about a book a LOVED (god, I’m weird) I’m gonna go buy the second.

I just finished Tennessee Lit Con’s September book club pick, The Negotiator by Avery Flynn! I’m a fan of billionaire romance, so I couldn’t wait to start reading the first book in the Harbor City series! If you’re a fan of fake dating, opposites attract, spice, and a MMC with an eye watering amount of cash in his bank account, you’ll want to add The Negotiator to your tbr.

From the meet cute, I was smitten by both Sawyer Carlyle and Clover Lee. This couple is just so cute. Their opposites attract vibe is spot on and I was addicted to the way they influenced each other for the better. Also, their Fee Market Flip date was *chefs kiss*.

Spice fans, you’re going to love this one 🔥. It doesn’t take long for Sawyer and Clover to take things from the hypothetical to the physical, and when they do 🌶️👀!  The best part, thought, is that it’s not just about the heat. These two clearly love each other even though they have a few things to work out before they get their HEA.

In the pages, you will find:

💰A workaholic billionaire MMC
🗺️A wanderlust strong FMC
🌶️Spice
❤️Romance
💍A fake engagement
🍾Fancy parties
🏡HGTV references
🥰An adorable first installment

Nice romance. Nothing special, but fine (especially because it's in the Audible Romance package).

A note to the author: Ms. Flynn, your readers are smart folks. You don't have to hit us over the head with the fact that the H is a 'big picture' guy. A few mentions are good; more than a few dozen are annoying.

I really dislike the cover on the audiobook. The regular cover is much nicer.

Themes: family corporation, match-making, wanderlust

Sappy and ridiculous and AWESOME!

Okay, it isn't really sappy but it is awesome- it's more that I felt sappy and ridiculous after reading this story. Ms. Flynn is so good- you follow their story and want to smack both Sawyer and Clover in the head- at the same time... their love story is powerful. It's about not running away from the truth in your life and seeing reality in front of you. Sawyer's inability to manage details added humor and tension. Clover's adventure and fear of commitment later on some new twists to boy and girl fall in love. Great read!!!!

A funny and sexy book that also breaks your heart to pieces before putting it back together again.

Think THE NEGOTIATOR is named for the hero? Wait and see...

Uhhhhh es war einfach gut. Genau das, was ich jetzt gebraucht habe. Eine lockere, humorvolle und heiße Geschichte Clover war mir mit ihrer Art so sympathisch und Sawyer der perfekte Mann.

This was fine bubblegum, with an ok grovel. I’ll probably read the others but not rushing to. All pretty middle of the road and vanilla characters.

While the book itself was interesting and kept my attention Clover was kind of 'manic pixie dream girl' while also having this weird thing about not ending up like her mom when her mom was perfectly happy that kind of seemed a little too teenaged angst for a 26 year old
