Edited down to one star. I usually don't go below 2 stars unless there are severe editing or writing errors, but I saw a 5 star review from someone who didn't even read the book and was just upset that other people didn't like it and left negative reviews, so I've changed mine to help balance hers out. :)

Very YA - emphasis on the YOUNG adult.

Poor characters with no growth, no world building at all, thready plot at best. The whole "bad boy alpha" is starting to make me gag. The author may be a decent writer, but this whole books/series is just riding the "warewolf" cashcow. Awful.

Decent enough to finish, but the romance was cheesy/cringy. Not a fan of the FMC or her love interest.

Not bad but not good either.
We start the book with Sterlyn and she is almost a Mary Sue. We get to hear throughout the book about how smart she is and how powerful she is and how much better than any other wolf she is. When she makes it to town the most important shifters both have a thing for her. Thankfully, only one has the hots for her or this would be a complete eyeroll for me.
Other things that irritated me:
-Sterlyn is supposed to be the next alpha in her pack and has been trained so well but never acts it. She is on the run, nearly drowns and gets rescued, and STILL STAYS IN TOWN EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS A FEELING SHE HAS BEEN FOUND. WHY?! She does absolutely nothing while staying in said town aside from working in a coffee shop, pining after the neighbor wolf, and staying with the wolf who saved her. Nothing. She has a moment in the book where she comments to herself that she needs to stop making too stupid to live mistakes but then still does so.
-Very little character development
-Insta-love
-one of the guys calls her Dove because she doesn't ever tell him her name until near the end of the book. But then there is a bash on the name Dove. It seemed silly to me since both names are rather silly to me. I don't know why it bothered me so. It just seemed like a rather immature moment that stood out to me and felt out of place.
-a trilogy for what reason? The story feels way too weak to need a second book, not to mention a third. It could have been wrapped up easily. The character development, world building, and just plot development don't really lead into a second or third book.
