I love the way Woolf writes about her surroundings.

"Doesn't one always think of the past, in a garden with men and women lying under the trees? Aren't they one's past, all that remains of it, those men and women, those ghosts lying under the trees…one's happiness, one's reality?"

Short and sweet. Very cute. Lovely nature imagery, very grounding.

"In the drone of the aeroplane the voice of the summer sky murmured its fierce soul."

Ah, wistful sigh. Kew Gardens, a short story, centres on a flowerbed in Kew Gardens, and the fragments of conversations overheard from the people who pass its vicinity. It's very Woolfian and very good.
