I continue to be charmed by these books and plan to keep reading them in order. The actual mystery was a bit muddled in this one, and a bit drawn out, so if you're looking for a straight-up thriller/mystery, this book will probably annoy you. But I'm realizing that Penny's genius is that she writes books to study human nature, using mysteries with reoccurring characters in a charming village as her vehicle.

wasn't as interested in this plot and was trying to rush through it a bit...but I had heard this was many's least favorite in the series so maybe that swayed me a bit too.

I love her writing and her characters but some of the storylines aren’t as engaging as others.

Wonderful

There is so much that is happening in this book. Penny does wonders with plot connections and character development, while returning to Three Pines
