i want to move to three pines and be part of the crime-solving posse of awesomeness. yep.
this is another good story from louise penny. she has a great knack in her writing. the plot - whodunit & how/why - may become obvious early on in her novels, but the characters and dynamics amongst them, along with the other threads of her stories, pull you right along and hold the reader's interest.
one 'yeah but…' the title is 'the cruelest month' but in the copy i read, it was always written 'cruellest', from the t.s. eliot poem...http://www.bartleby.com/201/1.htmla so some consistency there would have been good. or, appreciated.

I'm just not sure if this series is for me. Do I need to keep going in order to be a superfan, or would I know by now? And why all the body shaming in both this one and book 2? Not impressed by that.

I want to move to Three Pines. I want to eat breakfast with Gabri and read in Myrna's store. I want to be friends with Clara (and tell that dope Peter to stop undermining her confidence). I want to have Ruth curse at me. And this is because Louise Penny draws characters and spaces that are so real that I can feel them. The plot of this one wasn't my favorite-the murder was a little far fetched-but that doesn't really matter because that's not why I'm reading these books.
