So viel Tiefe, so viel Gefühl, so viel Hintergrundinformationen.

Out of the six books based on the movies, this is the only one worth reading. The other five books were scene for scene rehashes of what you saw on screen. Many of them felt rushed and sloppy and were not well written. Stover did a good job of getting into the characters psyche and explaining motives. While I won't say this book isn't also a rehash of the movie, I do feel it at least tried to expand the narritive and bring to the story what a visual medium can't.

It goes way deeper into all the characters thoughts and motivations and fleshes everything out. It was written before the Disney purchase so it’s not canon and references some non-canon events but the majority of it holds up. They only pets that really stick out are the lack of Ahsoka and there’s a bit in the beginning from Dooku’s POV that I chose to ignore in favor of the way he was portrayed in Tales of the Jedi.
