I really, really liked it. It gave me the feeling that I was sitting in the woods, in full arrmour, while listening to this amazing story teller. I really recommend it!

This reads like a sparknotes entry lol, but that's expected from a reconstructed retelling. I feel bad for everyone except Tristan and Isolde. The hoes were lying right and left, but if you try to expose them you are a bad guy? Ok

If ever there was a book I could’ve written, I wish it had been this one. To be the genius who took dozens of folktales, ancient scripts and stories and put them into one heart wrenching and beautiful narrative…no that was Joseph Bedier, the horrible, brilliant bastard.

Perhaps now I shall put a prayer to the lovers who console the weary and love stricken, Tristan and Iseult the Fair.

isolde is so wild lmao. the first time she "officially" meets tristan she tries to kill him with his own sword WHILE HE'S NAKED IN A TUB, then she randomly orders some guys to assassinate her bff and gets angry when they actually tell her they did(????) and oh let's not forget the guy who had a crush on her and swore he'd die for her, to which she quite literally replied "then die"

Delicious early English story with a great translation. I just dug this little jewel out of my parents' attic where I've been storing boxes and boxes of my books for a decade now. Surprisingly in very excellent, almost new condition. This edition used very fine paper, rather than the yellowing newpaper print that is oft-used these days in trade papers (and now even hardcovers).

Meh

The Romance was ok (the enemies to lovers at the beggining got me but it was ruined bcause the potion) but it felt too long and its only 200 pages that tells a lot.

And yes this is a school read.
